The latest

The last week has been a bit crazy!  It started off laid back.  Last weekend, Larry and I bought ourselves two books each and I ended up reading one of them in two days!  Now, I just need to get to the other one!

Carson was sent home with a project that he did at his Dad's house that his teacher was not impressed with.  This caused some discussion between households as apparently this project was forgotten and then done in 10 minutes on Monday morning before school.  Of course, I helped him with the project and it ended up much better.  The teacher even hung it above his desk!

I am a sucker for Valentine's Day.  I know it's because of the hearts and pink!  It has to be!  I bought these super cute heart marshmallows and made the boys hot chocolate!  They were not impressed!  They are strawberry marshmallows and they are delicious!!!  Carson exclaimed "I only like marshmallows in S'mores!"  Well, of course...there is chocolate involved!

Speaking of Valentine's Day....I've given all three of my boys their presents!  Talk about sucker!  I couldn't wait to give Larry his KISS Vans so I gave them to him as soon as they arrived.  He loved them and doesn't want to wear them until it stops raining.  LOL!  I ended up giving the boys their gifts yesterday after a mud incident where Adam came home with only one shoe.  I had to give Adam his gift so he would have shoes to wear and it wouldn't be fair to Carson to not give him his gift so all the gifts are opened.  They will end up getting a card and a little candy on Valentine's Day.

Yesterday was a rough day!  Adam threw up, we had the mud incident which caused extra laundry and clean up, we lost a shoe, Adam's glasses broke, etc.  I was fed up with the boys and made them stay upstairs for a few hours (they have tv, Xbox, toys, everything up there).  I let them come down to watch America's Funniest Home Videos with us.  Larry was giving me crap about not cuddling earlier (I had to get up to clean up MUDFEST 2011) so I told Carson to give Larry a hug and this is what transpired.  It is cute and funny!

I had a horrible week at work last week...horrible.  Lots of people yelling and just rude people.  Dealing with the public is interesting.  Only 6 1/2 months until vacation!

I'm hoping this week is a bit smoother!  We have the Superbowl to look forward to and I'm going out with some girlfriends tonight!

Adam lost his first tooth!

Here he is a few days ago with a loose tooth.  It's on the bottom and looks shorter than the other teeth!  On a side note look how gorgeous his eyes are!  He usually has his glasses on so you can't see them as well!

A few days later with a missing tooth!
01/28/2011

We can't find the tooth!  We looked in the rice krispy treat he was eating when the loss was discovered with no luck.  We think he swallowed the tooth!

Holding our special Tooth Fairy pillow

I found this pillow in the Portland airport.  I had been looking for one and ended up getting it for like $7.00!

Adam checking out what the Tooth Fairy gave him!

Looks like $2.00!!!

Exciting!!!

He had to go show Larry and Carson as he was so excited!  His permanent tooth has already broken the skin and is coming up.  I think he needs to lose more teeth in order for the permanent tooth to fit.  I see braces in his future!  Yikes!

Happy 84th Birthday...

to Larry's Grandma, Dorothy!

We met at Applebee's yesterday for Birthday lunch and cake.  A lot of Larry's extended family was there; people I have never met or only met once!

Dorothy got a new blanket and a lot of cards and flowers.

A weekend off!

I generally work on Saturday's, but I have this one off!  The boys are at their Dad's, Larry is still sleeping, and I have my cup of coffee.  I thought I would write a little update while the house is quiet!

My Mom and I had the notion earlier this week that we could go to Hawaii!  She found an awesome deal...airfare and 3 nights in Waikiki was $498/person.  Larry wouldn't go for it though.  He is so practical at times!  He said we need to save our money and he was even lecturing me to lecture my Mom.  LOL!  We tried!  A for effort for sure!

Larry has been super sick....nasty cold sick.  He was up coughing in the night terribly.  I will be honest and say that it was getting on my nerves.  I know he couldn't help it and I looked over at one point and he was sleeping sitting up.  Poor guy.  He didn't take anything though.  He claimed the Nyquil didn't help the night before!  I think he should still take it in hopes that it may help a little!  I have a bit of this cold, but I'm hoping it won't get any worse.

That brings me to Carson who called me from school yesterday to claim he was sick with a sore throat.  At 8 a.m. when he left the house he seemed just fine and when the call came in at 9:30 a.m. he sounded fine to me.  I couldn't leave work and my Mom had plans so we made arrangements for him to go to Olivia's (daycare).  He had to go back to class for a couple hours and then my Mom picked him up and dropped him off at Olivia's.  I called later to check up on him and Olivia said she had to keep reminding him that he was sick.  The little stinker!  He was trying to play hookie!

After a meeting in Salem yesterday I hit up Target and Michael's for some gift items.  I needed wrapping paper and some other odds and ends to complete said gifts.  I always feel like after Christmas that I'm in the clear for a bit, but I should know better!  My Sister-in-Law has a February Birthday, as does Larry.  Throw in Valentine's and a baby shower and I'm working on several gifts!  I enjoy it though and I found some stellar deals...I got an item that was normally $16.99 for $1.69!  That's 90% off!

While at Michael's I found these cute little puffy heart stickers for $1.49.  They completed my Valentine's candles!  I got the red shred, ribbon, and candles at the Dollar store!  Inexpensive project!  I have used these glass items several times now (the most used item left over from my wedding!).

I found cute Valentine's for the boys too!  They come with candy so they will be thrilled!  I had to buy three boxes just in case!

That's about it for now!  We have a lot of things planned for this weekend, but who knows what we will end up doing!  Such plans include Applebee's Birthday lunch for Dorothy (Larry's Grandma), a trip to Border's books, we talked about going to the Outback, and tomorrow football is on!  The Jets against the Steelers and The Bears against the Packers.  The winners of the games will play in the Superbowl!

Chase's CSI Birthday Party

Chase turned nine on January 2nd, but his party was today!  My Sister-in-Law, Ryan did an amazing job with the projects and creativity in making this party happen!

We got our invites a few weeks ago...
Which were lanyards for the boys to wear during the party!

Then we got to the party and WOW!  Footprints were made, fingerprints were taken, and the boys even got to find evidence at a "crime scene"!

The cake was super cute too!

The boys had a blast!  It was a very fun party and educational too!  They learned about fingerprints, hair, and fibers.  Super cute idea and perfect for this age group!

Funny Boys

A Carson Story:

I made turkey burgers the other night with tater tots for the boys and salads for Larry and I.  When Carson saw what I was cooking he immediately announced "It's like fast food at home!"  LOL!  I just thought this was too funny!

An Adam Story:

The other morning Adam was grumpier than usual (he is not a morning person).  I asked him what was wrong and he replied "You woke me up in the middle of the night!"  Well, every night when I go to bed, I check on him.  I was talking to Carson while checking on him and woke him up.  He was literally awake for about two whole seconds before falling back asleep.  Those two seconds caused some serious attitude!  Funny boy!

Valentine's Day presents

I'm super excited about the cute things I found for my boys for Valentine's Day!  I just have to share!

Larry is a huge KISS fan, I couldn't pass these up!  I was actually looking for shoes for Adam when I came across these!  He is going to D.I.E.!  I can't wait to see his face when he opens these!

Carson will love his new hoodie (and I will too as I'm sick of seeing his current one!)!  He prefers a hoodie over a coat which drives me crazy, but I was the same way as a kid!

Adam always wears Vans and needs new shoes so these were a no brainer!  Dinosaurs on skooters!  How could you go wrong?!?!?!?

Now, I just have to wait the five weeks for Valentine's Day to get here!

January

I find January to be a very "blah" month.  It has to be the holiday let down and clean up.  Add in the dreary weather and it feels almost depressing.
You put all the Christmas stuff away

You find more later that you still need to put away
I didn't set my resolutions in stone.  I have things I want to accomplish, however I'm not necessarily putting them down on paper.  I want to lose weight.  I have a number in mind (of pounds to lose), but it's more about fitting into a pink shirt with white hearts on it that I bought a few years ago and haven't worn.  I want to disconnect a little from the computer and spend more time with Larry and the boys.  So far, we have been doing just that!  Larry and I have watched season one, season two, and are in the middle of season three of Dexter.  We are making a to do/wish list of things to accomplish for a much needed trip to Cabo San Lucas in August.  I do need to find a way to spend more time with my boys.  I constantly feel we are rushing to get home, do homework, eat dinner, shower, get to bed, get up, get dressed, etc.

I do look forward to Valentine's Day and even though it's still five weeks away, I have gifts for all three of my boys.  We also have Birthdays to buy gifts for or plan.  Chase is having a CSI themed party very soon, Ryan is having a 30th Birthday party, and Larry's Birthday is at the end of February.  I look forward to these days.

I do plan to keep up with my blog this year, but I'm trying to go for "quality over quantity".  I'm giving up on Mobile Monday for the time being and will be posting when I feel like it.
