Thanksgiving

We had a very low key Thanksgiving this year with just Renee, Curt, and Trisha.  The boys were with their Dad and my family had other plans.

The most notable event of the day was Copper eating our prime rib and Larry having to run to the grocery store to buy another one!

We went to my Mom's the next morning for breakfast since my Grandma Merrily was visiting.  Breakfast was delicious and we got to spend some time chatting with my Grandma.

I took very few pictures, but here they are...

New car

I didn't have plans to buy a new car, but ta da....I did just that yesterday!  It's a 2007 Mercedes E350 in flint gray with 62,725 miles on it.  It's a lower monthly car payment too, so that is an added bonus!

Date night

We went to Independence Hops and Barrel House last night for dinner and drinks.  It was a cute place; all decorated for Christmas.  Corey and Melody met us there too!

Tooth fairy visit!

Larry unexpectedly had two teeth pulled yesterday!  He was given a prescription, but didn't know how to fill it so I got it for him along with soft foods.  I picked up jello, pudding, and these mashed potatoes with his name on them.

Even the tooth fairy visited him...he got $1 for each tooth!

Oaxaca~accomodations

We stayed in a little bed and breakfast/hostel called Sylvia's while in Oaxaca.  I felt very safe there and it was nice....minus only one new towel for the whole eight days!  Ha!

My bed is the one with the green towel

The pinkest bathroom EVER

Heart toilet paper...that you can't flush!

Oaxaca-working

While in Oaxaca we mixed cement (by hand!), painted, built SEVERAL tables, and served food to the school children.  I was under the impression we would be doing a bit more work, but what we accomplished was a lot.  Resources are slim meaning we had one drill to work with when making the tables.  We would get things hammered and completed to the point of the putting the legs on and then things would slow because we need the drill to screw on the legs of the tables.  We got faster as the week went on!

Oaxaca-ruins

We went to two different ruins while in Oaxaca.

The first archaeological site we visited was called Mitla:

Mitzi Smith

The second site was Monte Alban (my favorite):
