We have been getting the dogs up to date on all their shots and medication for an airplane trip to Mexico! Thankfully, with being off work I can schedule the numerous appointments a bit easier. Carson went with me yesterday as I refuse to go alone! The dogs get way too hyper and worked up! We did catch some cute pictures of them though...mainly Scout, but you get the idea.

I went to the Dr. with my Mom today and it was determined that she could use some extra help. Fortunately, I am able to use FMLA and have plenty of time saved up. She has a list of things for me to help her with, plus numerous Dr. appointments to attend. I am happy to help her and we have plans to throw a teensy tiny bit of fun in the mix too (drive to the beach, etc.). Mental health is important too.
Last night, we went out to Ankeny Vineyards with Tom and Heidi. We had a great time with good friends, good food, and good wine!
I got a call on Friday the 13th around 4:30 p.m. from Mom that her Dr. was sending her to the E.R. She had been in pain for nearly a week, had a CT scan earlier that day, and they found a fluid filled mass on her liver. It wasn't hard to find because it was 22cm x 6cm x 15 cm. Mom told me 22cm was nearly 9 inches...I didn't believe her until I googled it myself!
I left work to go to the hospital. Larry left work to go hang out with her until I arrived. Right after I got there she was called back and had her own room in the Emergency Department. We saw a lot of people in beds in the hallway. We talked most of the evening and hung out. I had Carson run to Mom's apartment to get her chemo meds since the pharmacy didn't have that on hand. Carson stayed with us and chatted too. She did earn a hospital stay and was finally admitted into her room around midnight. She had the fluid drained the next day. A full liter of fluid that looked like Mountain Dew. She stayed in the hospital until yesterday when I was able to get her out. We are waiting on results for the fluid that was drained.
We put our house on the market on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 and accepted an offer yesterday Sunday, January 15, 2023. We had three offers and went with the highest one, they also didn't need to sell their current home or have a set move in date. One offer wanted us out in 15 days and the other was contingent on their house selling.

We have been keeping a secret...
Last summer when Larry and I vacationed in La Paz, Mexico we bought a house! The last 6-7 months have included wiring money to Mexico and receiving pictures/videos of our house being built in return. Not to mention-we have been selling stuff like crazy, taking trips to the dump, and giving items to friends and family. We have been super busy and have a lot left to do, but we are so excited!!!
Our new home is approximately 950 sq ft. It's two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a rooftop space with pergola and we opted (paid for) a larger yard for our doggies who will be going with us.

We went to Corey and Melody's for New Years Eve. We had a fun time with amazing food and great friends. We played this silly game where you had to get an ornament that was attached to a string into a cup by swinging your hips, etc. It was ridiculous, but quite entertaining. The timing was a little off on the countdown to midnight, so we rang in the new year at 12:01! Ha ha ha! Happy 2023!
