Little piggies

I made these yesterday just because!  I think they are so cute and pretty darn easy too!

Color me mine

Today my Mom treated us to an outing to Color me mine.  It's a place where you paint your own pottery.  We had a lot of fun except for Adam who was EXTREMELY moody.  You will see in the pictures that he went off and sat in the corner at one point.  He was not a pleasure to be around!  LOL!  He apologized later and we think he may have been hungry.  He didn't have breakfast at his Dad's house.

Anyway, Carson made a cool dinosaur.  Adam painted a motorcycle piggy bank.  My Mom made a Birthday plate and I think it's going to turn out the best.  I made a plate/platter with polka dots and squiggly lines.

Now we just have to wait to get our pieces back.  They have to go in the kiln for 3-5 days!

Thank you Mom for a fun outing!

Edited to add our finished product:

Short weekend

I worked on Saturday while Larry stayed home with the boys.  When I got home from work Adam was on the couch napping!  Odd!  We ate a little lunch and got ready to head out.

We went to a wedding reception for Darren Muller and Tricia Sullenger.

We ended being out until 11:00 p.m. and Adam apparently really missed me/us.  I wonder if he had a touch of something with the nap earlier, etc.

The next day Larry and Carson ran to Salem and bought a Kinect!

The boys really loved it and we all got some good laughs!

It was a pretty relaxed weekend.  I did laundry, made dinner, and we just hung out.

Spring Break Snow

Yesterday we woke up to snow and it snowed all day long!!!  Snow on March 21st!  It was really wet snow and didn't stick to the roads, but we knew it would freeze and cause issues.  Adam asked me 100 times if school was delayed, but it wasn't!

Today (March 22nd) we woke up to more snow...on the first say of Spring break!

The boys spent the day with my Mom and played in the snow for Spring break!

It has been such an odd Winter/Spring.  It snowed on February 29th, March 1st, March 6th, and now March 21st and 22nd!

Random update

I got a bit creative the day before St. Patrick's Day (which fell on a Saturday this year) and packed this as dessert for the boys in their lunch boxes.

Adam fell asleep the other night on the couch. The cat curled up right on top of him. They were so cute that I had to take a picture!

I purchased this wall hanging for our kitchen on a whim. I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to possibly replace our bathroom decor and ended up with something completely opposite!

I also purchased these wall hangings for our living room. They weren't next to each other so I'm pretty proud of how I grouped them together. Thankfully, my Mom came over to hang them! Ha ha ha!

Earlier this year I stated we were on a spending freeze.  I've obviously failed with that!  LOL!  We did receive a tax refund this year and I tried to use some of it to purchase a few summer things for the boys.  Carson has grown out of everything.  Literally, nothing fits from last summer.  I've purchased him four pair of shorts and six t-shirts.  I may have to get a few more things, but we are off to a good start here.  Poor Adam only has one new pair of shorts and one new shirt.  I need to figure out what will work from last year and what can be handed down to him from Carson.

Adam's journal

Adam has to write in a journal weekly as his homework.  This week he wrote about our trip to Wildlife Safari.  It's so cute that I had to put it in my blog!  I have to remember all these cute things!

He wrote more than he usually does so he must have really enjoyed Wildlife Safari!  His teacher's comments are at the bottom too.

It reads:
I went to Wildlife Safari.  I saw giraffes.  They have long necks.  I wish I had a long neck so I could reach up high.  My brother ate on the curb.  A chicken was in the bush so we had to eat in the car.  We also saw two bears fight.

Lazy weekend

Friday night I went to a surprise 30th Birthday party for Ann Holland.  I wasn't there long, but I got to see her open her presents!

Saturday was a super lazy day.  I spent a lot of time editing the pictures I took at Wildlife Safari while Larry played with his new computer.  I did a few loads of laundry and made super cute cupcakes too.  We ordered pizza for dinner and watched the show Shameless on DVD.  The boys watched Star Wars and played Xbox.

Sunday was another incredibly lazy day!  We decided to make a run for the border a.k.a. Taco Bell, which is at least a 15 minute drive one way!  We went to the West Salem Taco Bell to try their new Dorito locos taco!  We got 24 tacos and Fruitista Freeze drinks for all!

Wildlife Safari

We left our house early yesterday morning to start our adventure to Wildlife Safari.  My Mom packed muffins for breakfast and we stopped for coffee/hot chocolate.  We arrived at Wildlife Safari about 1/2 hour before they opened, but it gave us time to take pictures and watch a squirrel.  We thought the squirrel was pretty cute and fun to watch, but the rest of the day was even better!  The squirrel kind of paled in comparison!

It was foggy and a bit cool when we first arrived, but the sun came out and it was a beautiful day!

We entered the park and started our first trip through.  We took it very slow and had to get pictures of almost every single animal!  It's pretty amazing when they are feet from your car.  Adam preferred his window up if animals were close by, we all did!  Especially if they had horns!

This ostrich walked right up to our car and started pecking away!  Good thing I had rolled up my window!  I tapped on the window back and he gave me the "evil eye!"  It was pretty funny!

After our first trip through the park, we headed to the car to eat a bit of our picnic lunch.  We had sandwiches, chips, macaroni salad, grapes, strawberries, string cheese, and cookies!  Obviously, we weren't going hungry!  Ha ha ha!  The boys sat down on a curb to eat and we suddenly heard a chicken make a noise!  There was a chicken under the bushes they were next to and he wanted some of their sandwich!   The boys promptly moved to the back of the car.  We all laughed so hard at this.  It was funny!

We decided to check out the petting zoo, gift shop, and other activities they have.

We looked around the gift shop and my Mom bought Carson a bookmark and Adam a blue sparkly rock that he fell in love with.

We decided to take one more "quick" trip through the park and we are so glad we did!  We came across giraffes in the road!  It was so awesome!  The younger one was being aggressive and using his neck to hit the older one.  I got pictures of them from the front, from the sun roof, out of the sun roof, and from the back.

We got to the bear area and they were laying down in holes they had dug for themselves.  Pretty soon, one bear was up and walked towards the water to play.  Then a second bear got up and began to play fight wrestle with the other bear.  I have video of one bear chasing the other around the pond.  This was the best part of the day, with the giraffes being a close second.

The boys were really good and pretty darn funny too!  Carson said "He's so close, I can see his boogers!" about one of the animals along the way!  It was funny!

We had a great day with gorgeous weather!
