Our anniversary fell on a Tuesday this year so we opted to wait until this weekend to celebrate. We were just going to shop and have a nice dinner in Portland, but recently decided to stay overnight and get a little quiet time. Also, Larry brought me flowers on our anniversary...even though we had agreed on no gift exchanges this year!
We hit up the outlet mall in Woodburn first thing on Saturday, where Larry bought me two pair of Michael Kors sunglasses. We also purchased him some Levi's, a shirt, and a pair of converse. He got me a pair of sandals too. We had a lot of fun and Larry was super patient as he usually doesn't like crowds or trying clothes on. When we were finished, we had lunch at Red Robin. Of course, it was delicious. Then we headed towards Portland.
We were able to check into our room a bit early. We stayed at the Embassy Suites which was really nice and a great location. We relaxed, napped, and tried on our new clothing for a few hours. Then we got ready for dinner and walked a block to Portland City Grill which is 30 stories high. We arrived early so we could request a window seat, so we had a drink in the bar while we waited. Eventually, they told us our table was ready so we followed the waitress to our table. It was an AWESOME view and they had our table decorated with cute anniversary/heart confetti. We both had steak that was outstanding and they brought us a celebratory dessert. We walked back to our hotel and decided to hit up the pool and hot tub. It was super loud and full of kids even though it was during adult hours after 10 p.m. We headed back to our room and watched a movie.
Sunday morning, we took advantage of the breakfast that the hotel provides and then checked out. The room provided parking, so we put our luggage in the car and then headed out to the Saturday Market. I got a cool picture of the building where we had dinner the night before. We didn't buy anything at the market, but we got a good walk in and did some people watching.
On our way home, we stopped at the grocery store for some barbecue supplies. We came home, unpacked, and just hung out. We invited Corey and Melody over at the last minute for dinner and fire pit fun. They brought their dog and their grand dog over. Ranger was in heaven. We had a nice evening.
On Monday, we slept in and did chores around the house. Larry barbecued chicken legs, corn on the cob, veggies, and I added in a pasta salad. It was delicious. We had some wine and had a very relaxing day.
