Lazy Weekend

After a long and emotional week, Larry and I decided to keep things super simple this weekend.  We had a lazy Saturday morning complete with Ranger napping on Mommy.  We went to the grocery store together to get stuff for dinner and breakfast the following day.  We came home and my sweet hubby barbecued for me while I lounged around.  He made some amazing steaks, potatoes, and cut up some honeydew melon.  We sat outside for hours eating and drinking wine.  In fact, we drank three bottles of wine...just the two of us.

This morning I wasn't feeling so good.  Ha ha ha!  We had a super lazy Sunday, but Larry made me pancakes and bacon for breakfast.  We watched movies, napped, and just vegged out all day long. It was a much needed relaxing weekend.

Long Summer Weekend

I took a few days off of work so I could have a long weekend and it was fun!

On Friday, July 22nd My Mom, the boys, and I went to Pacific City.  It was a bit cold and misty when we arrived, but we had fun anyway.  We went to lunch and when we were finished it was sunny and hot!  I've never seen an Oregon beach so crowded!

Saturday, was a chore and errand day, but that evening we headed over to Amy's house for a little BBQ and drinking fun.

Sunday, was definitely and rest and relax day after staying out until 4 a.m. the night before.

Monday, my Mom and I ran to Portland to check out Mod Cloth's pop up shop and a few others too.  We had lunch and stopped at the outlet mall on the way home.

Little staycations are much needed!!!

4th of July Weekend

I'm going to back up a bit and start with Thursday, June 30th.  I woke up feeling fine, but when I got to work horrible pain set in around my lower back, mainly the right side.  I finally said enough is enough and went to the Dr.  He thought I had a kidney stone, so off I was sent to have an ultrasound.  The drive from the Dr.'s office to where the ultrasound building was horrible.  I was in so much pain!  I didn't take any pictures...this proves that I was completely pre-occupied (with pain!).

I missed work on Friday, July 1st and I felt awful about it.  The Friday before a three day holiday weekend?  Great timing body!  Friday was spent on the couch and dealing with pain.  I watched a lot of HGTV.  I did make red, white, and blue cupcakes.  Taylor came over for a visit and she was seriously so cute...absolute bright spot of the day.  My ultrasound came back normal, meaning the stone was small enough for me to pass on my own.

Saturday, I felt so much better, but was nervous about the pain coming back.  I spent the morning relaxing and didn't get dressed until like 3 p.m.  We went over to Corey and Melody's for a BBQ that evening.  I didn't take any pictures, but we had awesome steak and sides for dinner.

Sunday, we went to another BBQ that was like a block party in Mike & Cassie's neighborhood.  We had a really fun time and they had some awesome food.  I took my patriotic cupcakes all frosted and sprinkled.    They had a redneck hot tub or swimming pool that all the kids loved.  Trish and Taylor came too and Taylor was absolutely precious!!!  I held her a lot so Trish could have a little break.  Taylor fell asleep in my arms which was so sweet.

Finally, Monday the 4th arrived!  The boys came home so Carson could participate in the parade with the Performing Arts group.  We stayed home minus Larry running to Lowe's to get us a new garbage disposal.  He installed that and we had a pretty low key day.  We were able to see some of the fireworks from our backyard.  Of course, we heard fireworks until midnight.

It was an okay weekend considering how sick I was when it started.
