Kati's January Crafts

I made a cute little heart garland for Valentine's Day.  Once hung, it looked a bit stretched out.  I think next time, I will try a side by side version instead of top to bottom.  The girls had a craft day and I made two cute ceramic/shell/sea glass pieces.  I had no plan so I'm happy with how they came out.  The coffee mug piece is for the shelves in our kitchen that Larry made last month.  Lastly, I started a scrap journal where I plan to add a one inch by one inch square scrap each day of the year.  The picture shows January's scraps.  I'm loving this resolution and it really makes you look more closely at branding or package artwork.

Dart Art

All of our friends have fallen into a darts phase, so naturally we did too!  After realizing an outdoor setup wasn’t ideal, we moved the dartboard inside.  Larry painted the wall a perfect olive drab, and it ended up changing the entire feel of our living room.  We ordered a dart board, a surround, and several sets of darts.  Larry installed the dart board and surround immediately after they arrived.  It's are dart art wall!  We have played several games and we do have a small jar of paint for boo boo's.  Boo boo juice if you will.  We also purchased new stools that are so much nicer and sturdier than our old ones.

We play darts with our friends every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. and Larry's good luck charm is Bella.  Check out the picture of him holding her with the dart in the air!

New Bathroom Faucets

A task on our "to-do" list for quite some time now has been to replace all three faucets in our bathrooms.  We made it a priority for 2026 and it's already complete!  The before and after pictures are pretty amazing!  The builder used less than quality items, so we are upgrading here and there.

Morning Roof Hangs

Larry is on the roof most mornings working out and the dogs LOVE it.  They love to watch the birds, watch other animals, and let the wind blow in their faces.  I went up this morning and got some cute pictures.

Maria Visits for the New Year

Maria, who we worked with at Maps came to visit Dec 30, 2025-Jan 2, 2026.  We only had two full days to hang out and show her around La Paz!  We packed a lot in during those two days!

The night Maria arrived, Larry made dinner (steak and pasta) and we spent hours chatting it up!  The following morning, it was very dreary and uncharacteristic of La Paz.  Larry made us breakfast, we got ready for the day, and headed to the malecon.  We shopped, checked out the sights, and ended up at a cute bar called La Paz Lapa.  It was on the second floor so you could look out to the water and people watch too.  We had drinks, totopos with guacamole, and shrimp ceviche.  We sat there for several hours just talking and watching it sprinkle briefly.  After a few hours, we started to make our way home.  We stopped at the grocery store so Maria could buy Mexican candy for her kids and Little Caesar's to get pizza for dinner.

We came home, got in comfy clothes, and headed up to the roof.  We watched the sunset, ate pizza, and talked more!  I think we were all ready to fall asleep by 9 p.m., but we made it to midnight.  We saw several fireworks from our roof as the clock struck midnight.  We were in bed by 12:10 a.m. though!  Ha ha ha!

On January 1st, we went to El Coromuel for the day.  It was a bright, sunny, and typical La Paz day!  We had so much fun swimming, eating, drinking, and just hanging out.  We came home to have leftover pizza for dinner.  We also had cucumber with lime and tajin.  Add in ice cream bars for good measure.

Maria went home this morning, but was a bit under the weather.  We were making tea, giving her meds, and trying everything we could to help her feel better.  Poor thing.  No fun to travel while sick.

Overall, it was such a fun visit!  The dogs were really chill with Maria.  She brought us gifts...so sweet, but not necessary!  It was so wonderful having a familiar face here for a holiday.
