Memorial Day Weekend

Friday night we were invited to go to Mike and Cassie's to see their new home and hang out.  We went and had a really good time.  Larry played some guitar and I hung out by the fireplace all night!  It's almost June, but still so cold.  I didn't take any pictures, but you know it's fun when you get home at 1:30 in the morning.

Saturday, I worked and then hit up Wal-mart for some necessities.  Larry and I hung out at home for a bit and then got ready to go to another get together....a surprise party for Abby.  It was an outdoor BBQ and it was freezing.  Even Larry was cold and unhappy.  They had a fire pit, but it was so smokey!  Melody got one cute picture of us.  Abby was surprised though and it was a good time.  We did leave around 8:30 p.m. due to the temperature!  I smelled like camp fire for the remainder of the evening.  I could even smell it on my purse the next day.

Sunday, Larry and I went to Fred Meyer Jewelers to get my new watch sized.  They also replaced a battery in another watch I have.  We looked around at all the pretty jewelry and watches.  We then had a classy lunch of Taco Bell!  Ha ha ha!  We like it though!  We were laughing over the hot sauce packets because they are a bit more risque than I remember!

We headed to R.E.I. where we looked around for quite some time.  We ended up purchasing some luggage.  A larger piece for our dive gear and the matching carry on for Larry.  We also got some sort of TSA approved locks.  Both bags are rolling so that will be handy come time to go through customs, etc.  We leave for Cabo in 75 days so we are starting to prepare!

We then went to the movie Bridesmaids at the theater in Independence.  It was funny and cute!

Today (Monday) has been much more laid back.  Donuts and coffee for breakfast, playing games on the computer, laundry, naps, etc.  We have plans to make steak for dinner and veg out.  I miss the boys, but they will be home tomorrow.  Enjoying the quiet for now...

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Larry and I celebrated two years of marriage yesterday!  It was a pretty low key day as we both had to work.  My Mom offered to keep the boys so we could go to dinner though and we took her up on that offer.  We went to a new restaurant in town called Royal Thai.  I've never really had Thai food.  It was really good.  I had a beef stir fry meal and Larry had a shrimp and noodle dish.  Huge portions!

Larry surprised me with a gift!

A pretty Citizen watch with a matching bracelet!

Poor Larry received yogurt covered pretzels and beef jerky from me!  We had said we weren't buying gifts this year.  That will teach me!  I did get him a cool card though!

I made us some chocolate covered strawberries, but we were too full to eat them!  Ha!
The beautiful plate was my Grandma Merrily's.  She is downsizing and I received the beautiful plate!

We watched How I Met Your Mother and Dancing with the Stars too!

I feel so lucky to be married to someone who is sweet, thoughtful, and hilarious!  I love that Larry and I get along so well and just mesh.

Random happenings

Adam broke his glasses about a week ago so he has been wearing his prescription sunglasses. He looks like a little blind kid, but a cute one!

The boys got to leave school early on Friday to attend a practice emergency medical situation that my Mom helped with.  They got McDonald's lunch and a Dairy Queen treat so they were in heaven.  My Mom is currently our daycare as Olivia who watched the boys for 3 1/2 years had to quit.  I'm in the process of looking for new daycare/debating on leaving Carson home alone.  Things do not get easier as they get older!  Ha!

Our backyard was a SERIOUS jungle!  Larry finally decided to mow it, but it took two separate times to complete it and he had to go over it three times...once to cut it down, twice to cut it down even more, and a third time with the bag to pick up the cut grass!  My allergies have kicked into high gear the past week and I'm sure the warmer weather and all the yard work contributed to that!

Adam suddenly started reading and writing, like it just clicked and he's taken off with it.  He writes and colors a lot at my Mom's and she recently sent me the following picture via text message.  It says "I love food.  Food is osom (awesome).  It's hot."  So funny!  He is also sweet and writes I love you notes to my Mom.

That's all folks!

Weekend in review

Saturday after work, we went over to Corey and Melody's for a BBQ.  Larry had a few beers and I had a few jello shots.  Ha ha!  We had really yummy food...burgers, hot dogs, chicken, pasta salad, pink salad, baked beans, etc.

The girls showing off their pedicures...

Sunday was super lazy!    I even slept in until 9:30 am!  We played Cityville, watched t.v., napped, had pizza delivered, and watched the finale of Survivor (season 22).  Boston Rob won which I was happy with!

I had Monday off too which was nice!  I did exciting things like laundry and cooking.  I did get a nap in though!

I caught a cute picture of Copper resting in our jungle of a yard...

I also accomplished the task of grocery shopping...

We had beef stroganoff for dinner and watched Dancing with the Stars.  We are serious reality t.v. junkies!

Mother's Day weekend

I woke up Saturday to my boys actually getting along!  It's a rare event so I had to take a picture!  Of course, later in the weekend they were little butts!  Ha ha ha!

Saturday night Larry and I had a work dinner/auction to attend.  We had a good time watching people bid and spend money way out of our league!  We got some cute note cards and glass mugs as gifts though!  A delicious dinner too with yummy dessert!

The boys made me Mother's Day cards at school.  Carson's is pretty funny as he drew a picture of himself asking for food and me saying "NO!"  That kid will eat a whole large pizza by himself and still be hungry!  I'm scared for the teenage years.  Very scared!!!

Adam's presents...

Larry had the boys pick out a card and Zable bead for me!  They did such a good job!  The bead is very sparkly and has pink flowers on it.  It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but it's perfect!

Larry gave me a sweet card and Macy's gift card.  The guy knows I love to shop!  How sweet is he to do these things for me when I am not the Mother to his kids?  What a thoughtful husband I have!

He also made me coffee and breakfast...

We visited both of our Mom's and gave them their cards and gifts.  We came home and ordered pizza.  A perfect Mother's Day as I didn't have to cook!

Update

Friday night Larry and I had steak and veggies at home and watched the movie Little Fockers.  It was okay, but not as funny as the first two movies in the series.

Saturday we went to a Birthday party for Zack!  We gave him a Buzz and Woody toy which he seemed to really like.  He was so cute and it's amazing how there is such a difference from Zack's age (4 years old) to Adam's (7 years old).  They grow way too fast.

Sunday we purchased Larry some new work clothing and went out to lunch.  We went to Los Rocas which used to be J Bella's (where Larry proposed).  It looked like J Bella's, but with Mexican decorations.  We had good service and food, but it just didn't feel like a Mexican restaurant.

Larry and I have been hooked on this silly game called Cityville.  We even have our Mom's playing it.  We spend our extra time playing it and of course watching t.v.

Today was my day off.  I had my hair colored and trimmed.  It had been 7 months!  Yikes!  I also had my eyebrows waxed for the first time ever.  I really like the results.

I also ran a bunch of errands...bought a dress for an upcoming dinner event, did the grocery shopping, and I found myself some cute sunglasses.  They were regularly $26.00, but after the sale and coupon I got them for $4.99.  Now, these are frivolous sunglasses so $4.99 is about all I would spend for them.
I can picture myself wearing them in Cabo!

I lost a diamond in my wedding ring today too.  I took my ring in to be cleaned and during the cleaning one of the smaller diamonds fell out.  The jewelry store is repairing it, but I'm without my ring for a week.  Boo!  I'm really glad I have kept up on the maintenance for my ring, otherwise they might have given me grief.

My Mom is watching the boys this month as our daycare lady had to quit since she is moving.  I'm so appreciative to have my Mom's help.  It's not been easy to find a new daycare and I'm still on the hunt.

That's about it here...
