New Dishwasher

What an exciting post...a new dishwasher!  Ha ha ha!

It took over two months for it to arrive so I'm thankful our old dishwasher was still working!  Larry installed it and we were able to give our old one away for free.  I was at work, but I think Larry had quite the time getting it installed because I came home to my kitchen looking like a disaster!

Charcuterie Kati

I made us a cute little charcuterie board this past weekend for a wine date at home.  I should have taken a picture of us, but apparently was just in food and wine mode.

Received the funniest text from Adam today...from the kid who NEVER responds to my texts.

Beach Trip

Larry and I had a quick weekend getaway to the coast.  This was the weekend we were originally supposed to go to San Francisco with Corey & Melody to see Motley Crue.  That was postponed, so we thought we would getaway to Palm Springs.  Work was going to make us quarantine for 14 days upon return since Palm Springs is a hot spot, so we stayed in state.

The first night we stayed at Channel House in Depoe Bay which is one of our favorites.  It did not disappoint.  We sat in the tub on our balcony while watching at least four whales spout while drinking wine.  Then, we witnessed an amazing sunset.  We stopped for brunch earlier in the day so we weren't hungry when all the restaurants were open.  We were hungry at 9 p.m. at night though and had to trek back to Lincoln City for Taco Bell.  Taco Bell's computers were down so we had McDonald's for a very late dinner.

The next morning, we got ready and headed toward the outlet mall.  Mall rules consisted of our "new normal" of masks and waiting in line to go into each store.  Larry isn't much of a wait in line type of guy so we walked through the mall pretty fast.  It was sad to see a lot of businesses permanently closing.  I guess that might be part of our "new normal" too.  We did stop at a store called Scout that has a lot of outdoorsy stuff and they had added axe throwing.  We decided to each throw 10 times.  Larry hit once for two points and I hit once for three points!  I won!  Ha ha ha!  We had both been craving Taco Bell since the night before so we went through the drive up and had a car picnic of Taco Bell for lunch.

We decided to see if we could check in at Surftides in Lincoln City, which I booked last minute without a lot of research.  We were able to check in early which was nice.  It was a decent hotel...aging some, but clean and decorated cute.  We got settled and took a nap!  We tried to go to dinner at Pier 101, but it was closed.  We headed back towards our hotel and went to the restaurant there...Mist.  It wasn't the best.  Larry had what he calls road kill prime rib sandwich.  I had fish tacos which were good, but they gross Larry out.  Ha!  We walked on the beach after dinner and it was freezing!  The wind was blowing so hard that Larry's glasses had sand/salt build up on them.

We headed back to the room and I got in the huge tub.  Eventually, Larry got in too.  We relaxed for a bit, well I relaxed and Larry worked on his bubble bath camouflage!  Funny story...our bed was like a trampoline so every time either one of us rolled over it was so bouncy and ridiculous.  Ha ha ha!  We were able to sleep in a bit though.  We took our time getting ready and headed home.  A great weekend away!

Summer of the Staycation!

With the pandemic in full force there isn't much open or a lot to do.  Adam has had football practice, but its NO contact.  He is also lucky that the gym we got him a membership to is open.  Other than that, there is a lot of sleeping and gaming on the Xbox.

The other day when I was home at lunch, he decided he was going to sit by our HUGE pool and get some sun!  Ha ha ha!  It was cute so I had to get some pictures!

Trisha Turns 29

We had Trisha and Taylor over for a small barbecue to celebrate Trisha's 29th Birthday!  We had steak, veggies, potatoes, and macaroni salad that was forgot in the fridge!  Taylor was incredibly cute and retrieved beers for anyone when theirs got low.  She also learned how to use a bottle opener.  Fine stuff to teach your granddaughter!  Ha!  Trisha received money and a basket full of wine, bath bombs, a personalized wine glass, etc. from us.

4th of July

As most of 2020 has been very low key, 4th of July was no different.  All parades and firework shows were cancelled.  Masks are required anywhere in a public setting (indoors) and it's recommended to stay home.  The boys went to friends houses, so Larry and I snuck away for a few hours to enjoy some wine and pizza at Ankeny Vineyards.  We sat on the patio and were six feet away from other people.  The weather was perfect...not too hot and not too cold.  We had a relaxing time!
