Kati's February Crafts

Adam and I painted rocks when he was here, specifically sharks and monsters.  My rocks are on the top and Adam's are on the bottom.  The pink present is Joy's birthday gift that I wrapped and the blue/orange present is one of Larry's birthday gifts that I decorated.  Lastly, I had to share the February update for my scrap journal.  I used a football for Super Bowl Sunday and a Happy Bday for Larry's Birthday.

Larry's Birthday

We celebrated Larry's birthday the other day with gifts and dinner!  I gifted him a new Denver Broncos hat, underwear, shorts, an Amazon gift card, and a certificate to get his ears pierced.  He's been talking about getting his ears pierced for quite some time, so I set the appointment and made up a certificate for him to open.  We went to dinner at Costa Hermosa, which was a lovely outdoor restaurant.  The service was amazing, my passion fruit mojito was great, and our filet mignon dinners were delicious!

Today was the appointment for the ear piercing.  The shop we went to was incredibly clean and thorough.  Larry was a little anxious, but barely felt anything.  It was a great experience!  We went to lunch afterwards at Konigs Bier.

Ron & Rhonda Visit

Yesterday, Ron & Rhonda came in on the cruise ship and we showed them around La Paz.  Ron and Rhonda are my sister-in-laws Dad and step-Mom.  We gave them a tour of our house, chatted on our roof, went out to lunch, visited the cathedral near the Malecon, got ice cream, briefly checked out the art museum, and squeeze in a little shopping.  It was a great day!

Valentine's Day

What a memorable Valentine's Day!  Larry got my morning coffee for me in a surprise new mug along with some Kit Kat's.  Then, he made me breakfast and gifted me a cute bear.  I gave him cherry sours with a cute "I'm love you cherry much" tag, Aplets & Cotlets, and a mini Monchhichi doll.  He told me a story a few months ago about how he really wanted a Monchhichi doll when he was little, but his Dad wouldn't allow it because boys don't play with dolls!  I found this mini one, bought it, had Adam pick it up, and bring it to us.  Larry cried after opening it, which made me cry.  I told him that he could have any toy he wanted.  It was a core memory for sure.

We had wine and charcuterie and finished the evening on our roof watching the sunset.  It was an at home low key day, but it was perfect.  The first picture is from a few days before Valentine's at a local restaurant.  Had to include it here.

Whale Shark Tour

On February 11th, we went on a whale shark tour and swam with whale sharks.  It was cool to be out on a boat in La Paz, which we haven't done before.

Adam Visits

Adam was here February 1-13 and we all wanted him to stay longer!  It was very expensive to switch his ticket though.  We had a fun two weeks filled with busy days and lazy days.  We started the trip by whisking him to a beer fest where we had yummy foods and drinks.  We ate at La Paz Lapa on the malecon, we went to Tecolote beach where Adam had a massage, we went to El Coromuel where Kati found a lot of sea glass, we had pizza delivered, we played card games, we played Connect 4, we cuddled doggies, we hung out on the roof, we shopped, we went on a whale shark tour (separate post0, we painted rocks, we watched the super bowl, and we ate a lot!  I made beef stroganoff, potato salad, spaghetti, pulled pork sandwiches, chili with cornbread, nacho dip, cinnamon toast, and hash brown casserole.  Larry made several breakfasts, steak with pasta, and chicken legs.  Adam had shrimp tacos, marlin tacos, lobster tacos, and sting ray tacos.  We had a good time catching up and spending time together.  Airport drop off was rough and included many tears from Mom.
