Carson's New Car

Last night, we went with Carson to buy a new car.  He got a 2021 Kia K5 with 28 whole miles!  His Lexus was becoming a repair nightmare and it was time for something more reliable.  He got his K5 in gravity gray and it has all the bells and whistles!

Family Dinner

Last night, we had dinner with my brother, sister-in-law, and Mom. They made us steak, broccoli, potato salad, and rolls.  We had chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.  My Mom had numerous questions on her new phone so Larry was showing her how to do things and we ended up with some funny pictures (and a good one too)!  I think Ryan was cutting strawberries when this was going on because she missed out on being in the funny pictures.  Also, props to the guys doing dishes.

My Birthday

My Birthday has been a good five days of celebrating...just the way I like it.  Ha ha ha!  I took a few days before my Birthday off as a gift to myself.  My staff spoiled me before leaving for my long weekend though.  Lots of goodies including a robe, a blanket, wine, a cute wine glass, and cute mug, tea, a Vera Bradley backpack, earrings, string lights, gift cards, and hilarious cards.

Wednesday, October 28th I ran errands and got a pedi/mani.  A me day!  On Thursday the 29th Mom, Ryan, and myself had a shopping/lunch day.  We went to Washington Square and The Cheesecake Factory.  We spent the longest time in Nordstrom playing with a Chanel virtual make up machine.  I had the most amazing pineapple mojito at Cheesecake Factory along with the best chicken salad sandwich.  I bought myself a few inexpensive jewelry items.

On Friday the 30th, Larry and I headed out for the Cannon Beach/Arch Cape area.  We stopped at the Grain Station in Monmouth for breakfast.  It was a good two hour drive to Manzanita where we stopped to visit the cutest winery.  We sat outside and it was a gorgeous day, even in late October!  After the winery, we decided to find our bed and breakfast, the Arch Cape Inn & Retreat.  It was really neat.  We stayed in the tower room.  Larry let me open my gifts and he completely spoiled me.  I received two Michael Kors hand bags, perfume, and he had champagne and roses delivered to the room.  We decided we should find something to eat so we headed towards Cannon Beach, but in typical Larry and Kati fashion we ended up in Seaside.  We decided to get Taco Bell and head back to the room.  We stopped on the way to Seaside for some amazing views though.  We ate our Taco Bell in our room while watching The Office.  We saw an amazing sunset and went to bed early.

The next morning (Saturday the 31st), we had an amazing breakfast in the dining room of the Inn.  Larry had eggs Benedict and I had cinnamon french toast.  We decided to actually go to Cannon Beach for the day to check out the shops and beach.  The shops were so-so, your typical beach sweatshirts and trinkets.  We walked out onto the beach where it was actually warmer than in town.  We also hit up Hug Point Recreational area to check it out.  There was a pretty waterfall there and some caves.  We went back to the room to relax and get ready for dinner.  Larry had reservations for us at Newman's at 988, a cute older home turned restaurant in Cannon Beach.  I had rack of lamb and Larry had lobster ravioli.  The food was superb!  We had appetizers and dessert also.  We went back to our room where I took a bath and Larry & I sat by the fire talking until it really was my Birthday.

Sunday, we had breakfast in the dining room again.  We both opted for a bacon and asparagus frittata that was amazing!  Then, we packed up and headed home.  We stopped at a viewpoint for some picture opportunities and took the long way home.  It was a gorgeous day, especially for November 1st.  We got home around 1 p.m. and relaxed at home the rest of the day.

Of course, I received cards/presents from my Dad and Larry's Mom.  I also received numerous texts and Facebook posts.

It was a great Birthday!
