Halloween

At the last minute, we decided to dress up for Halloween.  We were a hodge podge of characters, but it made the day fun!

George as an Alabama fan
Me as a witch
Garrett as Woody
Debbie as a bee
Taylor as a wizard

We carved pumpkins last night!
We kept it traditional with jack-o-lantern pizza and roasting the seeds.

Adam-Sophomore Football

Adam's football season was cut a bit short this year as he broke his thumb.  He got to play in a few games and was improving.  Then during practice on October 3rd, he broke his thumb while catching a ball.  I received an odd voicemail from one of the coaches mentioning an incident.  I called back and you could tell that the coach was a bit nervous to tell me that Adam probably needed to be seen by a doctor.  Of course, all of this happens at 4:50 p.m. so I quickly got Adam an appointment the next day at our Dr.'s office.  We thought this was a better plan than urgent care, etc.  The Dr. confirmed...broken.

House Updates

We decided to get new flooring installed because our hardwood flooring didn't hold up well at all.  With the installation date looming, we decided it would be a good time to paint as well.  What a chore!  Corey helped us with the painting and somehow I only got pictures of him, but I guarantee Larry and I were there painting too.

Then, we had to find places for our furniture.  Our couches went to the dump and everything else went upstairs!  Again...what a chore!  Adam was found one morning sitting on the counter because there was no where to sit.  Then we had to pull up the old flooring and all the staples.  Carson was a huge help with the staples!  His fingers were numb for days afterwards.  The floors were installed on October 11th & 12th and we love them!  They are supposed to hold up well too!

We then opted to paint our old office/new wine room a bold teal color.  We both agreed on the teal and went for it.  It turned out well and since it's only one room it's not too overwhelming.

Last, but not least Larry put base molding up all over the house.  The project snowballed into several projects and we aren't done.  We have more ideas!

Fall Wine Date

Yesterday, I made a charcuterie board for an at home date afternoon.  I went with a seasonal jack-o-lantern theme.  The dogs seem to really enjoy our at home date nights because they always seem to get a piece or two of cheese!
