Corey and Melody stopped by to give Larry a gift before we headed to Bend for the weekend. They got him the tactical vest he had been drooling over for months. It was so funny because Corey was dressing Larry! Melody had to take that photo opportunity! Ha!
The next morning, we headed towards Bend. We got to McMenamin's around one in the afternoon and decided to have lunch. We bought our McMenamin's passports first though! While we were at lunch, they let us know that our room was ready early for us. We got checked in, took some pictures of our room, and I let Larry open his second Birthday gift (I gave him a new phone the night before). He got his rangefinder that he had been wanting! He read up on it while I edited pictures on my phone.
We decided to check out one of the bars so we went and had a few drinks. I had the most delicious homemade pretzel too. We got our stamps and decided to hit up the tubs in our room. We sat in our tubs for hours...listening to music and talking. We finally got out and Larry decided he was hungry....at 11:30 p.m.! We put pajama pants and flip flops on and headed to the pub! We didn't realize they were open until 1:00 a.m. so we were feeling bad about going so late.
The next morning we slept in and slowly got ready. We decided to walk around downtown Bend to find breakfast as McMenamin's had already ended their breakfast service. We didn't find anything and it was cold. Back to McMenamin's for lunch it was. Larry had crazy spicy a
hi tacos and I had baked mac & cheese. We headed back to our room and napped...it was awesome. After nap time, we headed to another bar to eat and collect our stamp. We both had amazing burgers. Then it was soaking pool time. The soaking pool is like a huge hot tub. The roof is open so when it snow or rains, it comes down over the pool.
The next morning, we ordered room service while we packed up and got ready for the day. After we ate, we headed home. The drive home was very rainy and a bit slushy over the pass. We, stopped in Salem to buy Larry a few more toys. He had a great Birthday and we had a very fun weekend together!!!
