Christmas in January

Yesterday, we finally celebrated Christmas with my Dad and Vicki.

We had lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and apple pie.  We watched the championship football games and opened presents.  Vicki made all of us awesome fleece blankets.

SnoBall

The boys both went to the SnoBall dance (girl ask boy) last night.  Adam went with friends and Carson was asked to go by his girlfriend, Hazel.

Adam sent me a text stating he didn't get the "overalls and bow tie" memo.  I responded with "That sounds horrible!"  Come to find out that he meant suspenders and bow ties!  Ha ha ha!

Carson and Hazel's pictures all turned out a bit blurry, but they were very matchy matchy!

Grandma Merrily

We attended my Grandma's funeral today.  It was a lovely and simple service where several people shared funny memories.  The rain held off for the graveside service and it wasn't too cold, which was nice considering it's January.  After the service, we went out to lunch at Claim Jumper...just Mom, Brad, Ryan, Chase, Larry, Adam, and myself.  We had a nice time visiting and the food was delicious too!

I want to remember that the last time I saw my Grandma was on Dec. 27, 2018 (a week and a half before she passed) and even though it was a hard visit, she took my hand and kissed it when she saw me.  She was in and out of sleep and not all there when we visited, but when we went to leave, I hugged her, kissed her forehead, and said "I love you."  She said "I love you too." back.  What more could you ask for?

Eye Check-Up-Adam

Adam has been asking for a few months to get contacts and surgery on his eye.  I called back in October 2018 to start the process and today was the earliest they could get us in to see Dr. Kuo!  Today he had a vision check, where with glasses his vision is 20/20 in his good eye and 20/25 in his bad eye.  They are referring us to another Dr., Dr. Ng to look at his eyelid droopiness and to arrange a possible surgery.  Dr. Ng performed Adam's three previous surgeries.  They want us to wait on contacts and a contact fitting until we know if he is having surgery or not.  The way Dr. Kuo spoke, I'm guessing surgery is in his future.  The contact fitting would make more sense after the surgery/healing.

We had to be up to Casey Eye Institute early so Adam brought his blanket and pillow in the car.  He made for great company!  Ha ha ha!

New Years Eve

We went to Corey and Melody's house to celebrate New Years Eve and had a fun time!  They had pulled pork sandwiches, pink salad, chips, dips, homemade salsa, lil' smokies, etc. We both had a few drinks, but nothing out of control.  It was the 14th new year that Larry and I have rung in together!  We didn't get home until after 3 a.m.!
