Carson's Birthday!

Carson turned 18 on Friday!

18!!!

We took six of his friends out to dinner with us at The Rock wood fired pizza place in Salem.  They were really fun kids and we had a great time!  Attempting to get a group picture between the lighting and well, SEVEN boys was nearly impossible!  I think I got a few funny ones though.  Our waiter was a theatre kid too and talked to all the boys about their upcoming play (they are all in the play or doing tech for the play).   Counter clockwise around the table:  Dylan, Seth, Brody, Joseph, Maynard, Caedmon, and Carson.

Roaring 20's

Larry and I attended a 1920's themed casino night and got to participate in the VIP events!  We were given swag bags with a flask, a shot glass, two small bottles of liquor, lip balm, and drink tickets.  We also had reserved parking and a horse drawn carriage ride between the pre-party and actual event.  The event had food, desserts, cork pulls, dancing, game tables for gambling, and was a lot of fun!  We met up with Jenn Smith, Mitzi Smith, and Liz Henderson so Larry was in the land of ladies!  Ha ha ha!  He was a good boy and babysat drinks and held purses all night long.

My Birthday

My Birthday was on Thursday and I worked that day.  My co-workers gave me an amazing gift of wine glasses, stemless wine glasses, two bottles of wine, a wine towel, and a gift card to World Market.  They had it wrapped so cute along with some princess balloons!

Then about an hour or so into my day, I received a flower delivery from Larry along with a balloon and little teddy bear.

Larry had given me one of my presents over the previous weekend....a COMFY.  It's a big huge sweatshirt that you can fit your legs into and everything.  It's warm and magical.  Ha ha ha!  He let me open one gift on my actual Birthday...super cute socks to keep me warm.  The boys gave me a $50 Amazon gift card too!

The next day, Larry and I headed up toward Portland to spend the night.  We got parked and went to a restaurant that is part of the hotel we stayed in.  We had a delicious lunch and then walked up to Oregon Wines on Broadway.  They had wine on tap and places to sit.  Larry and I shared a bottle of wine there.

After our dining and wining, we checked into our hotel.  They upgraded us!  Larry had booked us a pretty cool room, but they upgraded us to a two story suite.  It was awesome!  There was a full bath upstairs in the bedroom area complete with a HUGE soaking tub and there was a half bath downstairs in the living room area.  Larry and I enjoyed looking out the window and watching people.  I got to open my presents...ear buds, a bracelet, Betsey Johnson spider earrings, and a Kate Spade handbag.

We hung out in our room for a bit and then got ready for dinner.  We got our first Uber to transport us to dinner at Andina, a Peruvian restaurant.  We didn't have the best service, but the food (and dessert) was really good.  I had a lamb chop dinner and Larry had a lamb shank dinner.  We got another Uber back to our room and decided that is the way to go...super convenient.  I took a hot bath in that huge tub while Larry spied on people out our window!  Ha ha ha!

The next morning we kind of bummed around and got ready.  We headed south towards home and had breakfast at Shari's.  We stopped at the vineyard to pick up our wine, but it was way too crowded for our liking.

I also received cards and money from my Mom and my Dad.  I've already spent some!  Ha ha ha!

Carson in Mamma Mia

Carson just finished up two weeks worth of performances in Mamma Mia...after months of rehearsals.  He played Eddie who is kind of a goofy character who has a few lines.  It was a great show...cute and funny!  Carson, along with ten other boys come out at one point in wetsuits, fins, goggles, etc. while dancing.  It was a hilarious scene!  Central was only the third high school in the nation to put on the show.
