Halloween

At work we decided to wear tacky Christmas sweaters.  I had a lot of ladies compliment me on my cute sweater though...makes me laugh.  Thanks to my Mom who helped create mine!

 

The boys decided at the last minute to dress up so my Mom came to the rescue and made them Minecraft Creeper heads!  They were pretty excited!  A lot of people didn't know what they were, but there were a few kids who got very excited when they saw them.  While trick-or-treating, Adam would take his head off and then put it back on as Carson was knocking/ringing the doorbell and Larry and I just laughed.  They looked so cute and funny in garbage bags and box heads! 

 

We got extremely lucky with the weather, it only sprinkled for a few minutes while we were out trick-or-treating.

 



Pumpkin Carving

Last night we carved our pumpkins!  I picked up jack-o-lantern pizzas and root beer and we kind of made a night of it!  I love this time of year and all the fun activities that go along with it!  The boys did really well.  I helped Carson with cutting his top and Larry helped Adam with some of his carving.

 

We did have one rotten pumpkin and boy did that thing stink!  Thankfully, we had bought five pumpkins so we still had enough for us all to carve one. 

 

 

 



Oh how time flies....

 

Larry just stumbled upon our 2006 pumpkin patch picture and I thought it was so cute.  It wasn't that great at the time, but now it is!  I remember we went to a really trendy patch that year and it cost us over $100 to do all the activities and get pumpkins.  I'm pretty sure we didn't go in 2007 or 2008 from that memory alone!  Ha!  Then we found Setniker Farms in 2009, they are extremely reasonable and close to our home.  We keep going back and it's fun to see the improvements they make each year.  It's also interesting to see how we change; for example this was our first year to sling shot gourds even though the sling shot has been there the whole time!

Caramel apples

I've been extra busy with work and am basically working six days a week, but I did get off early today so decided we should make caramel apples.  I think I've got it down now (after three years of making them)!  Last year we didn't use the sticks and the boys were burning their fingers, etc.  I highly recommend the lollipop sticks!  I found them at Walmart for $2.00!

 



Pumpkin Patch

We headed to the pumpkin patch yesterday and got so lucky weather wise!  It rained on the way there and I was worried, but it stopped as soon as we got there!  Not a drop the whole time we were there!  We got in the car to head home and it started raining again!

 

We did more big kid activities this year, the sling shot being the big one!
