Day Trip to Weed, California!

We left our house at 7:32 a.m. yesterday and made it home at 10:09 p.m.  We drove down to Weed to watch Adam's first home game and drove home all in the same day!  It was cold and they lost.  It was hard to only see him for a few minutes, but I did get a few good cheek pinches in.   Of course, I cried on the way home from Yreka to the Oregon border.  I hate leaving him, plus he seemed super down.  I think he has a bit of home sickness.

Adam-Fire Evacuation!

Larry called me at work the other day asking if I had heard from Adam and then at the same time I received emergency texts from the school stating that they were evacuating.  I assumed Adam was already on the bus as he had an away game at Chabot (near Sacramento), but he wasn't.  His whole dorm was in chaotic mode...packing up what they could.  Of course, texting Mom wasn't on his priority list!  Ha ha ha!    He eventually got on the football bus and headed south to Chabot for their first game.  They ended up staying there Friday and Saturday night.  On Sunday, they drove back to Weed.  The school closed for the full week as so many staff members were effected by the fire.  Adam caught a ride home with friends since campus was closed for the week.
