Kati's September Crafts

I did more crafting this month between all the rainy days and Larry being gone!  I made the pumpkin out of an old book, painted the ends orange, added a cinnamon stick for a stem, used ribbon I had, and d purchased the leaves at the craft store.  It turned out so cute!  I completed my first diamond art piece while Larry was in Oregon.  It took me a good day to do with t.v. and lunch breaks included.  I framed it and just love how it looks 3-D.  The turtle and color scheme go with our living room so it is on display.   I painted the little ceramic pot while Larry was gone too.  I decided to add a plant marker for a little herb set.  I still need to plant the chives though!  I had a lot of leftover paint so decided to paint the wine bottle as well.  I love how it turned out!  I really need to add little fairy lights inside.

Larry to Oregon

Larry flew to Oregon without anyone knowing!!!  He was there September 16th-23rd.  He was able to surprise so many family members!  I booked him the cheapest rental car which was the "supplier's choice."  His choices were an electric car or 12 person passenger van so he went with the van.  What an ordeal trying to park that thing everywhere!  He saw his Mom, uncle Curt, Trish, and Taylor.  He saw my Mom and had dinner with the boys.  He saw Tom, Heidi, Corey, and Melody.  He was able to have some quality time with family, which was the purpose of the trip.

He ran a few errands like getting new debit cards for both of us, buying some items we can't find in Mexico (sturdy dog toys, pudding mix, Triscuits, etc.), and mailing out his trade-in phone.  He had a new phone shipped to his Mom's house.  He also visited the Wall of Healing which is a travelling Vietnam War memorial (3/4 the size of the original).  It only stopped in one place in Oregon and that was Independence!  What are the chances that it would stop in our old town during his visit?   He said it was very emotional.  The video he shared is amazing, the wall goes on forever!  There are 58,281 names on the wall.  He was able to help an older lady find her boyfriend's name on the wall.  He ate at Taco Bell, Denny's, and Paddington's Pizza.  His Mom made him cheese pockets.  He had Twinkies, chocolate milk, and Rock Stars.  He brought home pudding, wheat thins, and a dozen red vine boxes for me!  Licorice is the way to my heart!  Ha ha ha!

Lastly, I watched Larry's plane take off.  The dogs and I waved at him!  Ha ha ha!  We survived the week just fine, felt very safe.  I did some crafting and organizing.  I had dinner with our neighbors.  I watched three seasons of a t.v. show.  The time went fairly fast, but I sleep much better with Larry home.
