Our 11th Anniversary

Larry and I planned to go to one of our favorite hotels at the beach for our anniversary, but they were closed due to Covid19.  This prompted me to search and search for something different and romantic.  I ended up finding a super cute house on Airbnb in Eugene.  It was perfect...atrium bedroom, hot tub in a wooded backyard, and tons of privacy.

First, we headed to a winery...our first wine tasting since February I think!  We visited Tyee Vineyards and it had such a pretty outdoor atmosphere.  There weren't many people there and they had several outdoor tables set up so we could easily practice social distancing.  They even did their tastings in plastic cups which I'm not a fan of, but we still had a nice time.  After the winery, we were starving so we hit up a fast food place and ate in the Jeep.  Dining rooms are closed right now.  Then we headed to our Airbnb.  We got settled and got in the hot tub right away.  It was so peaceful!  It felt as though a hot tub was dropped in the middle of the woods!  It was sunny, but there was a nice breeze.  We had chill music playing.  I seriously could have stayed there forever!

We eventually decided we should eat again!  Ha ha ha!  Larry made us dinner and in typical Weyer fashion...we set off the smoke alarms!  Food was delicious though!  We hot tubbed some more, watched a movie, and just hung out without kids or dogs!  We also exchanged cards (we opted not to exchange gifts, getting away together was enough).  We slept in the atrium bedroom, but this was a large enough house to sleep seven.  Neither of us slept well...I felt like people were watching me sleep!  The sunrise was gorgeous though.  Larry tried to sleep through it!  I brought donuts for breakfast.  We took our time getting ready.  I had my coffee in the backyard.  On our way out, there were deer in the driveway.  So picturesque!

We drove towards Salem to hit up Lowe's.  What a change of pace!  Complete craziness with not a lot of social distancing!  We went there for a few things, but just ordered a new dishwasher and ran out of there!  We stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch (so us!) and then picked up Larry's rig that was in the shop.  So yeah, typical of an old married couple...errands on the way home!  Ha ha ha!

Mother's Day

Super duper low key Mother's Day this year.  All restaurants closed due to pandemic and both of our Mom's quarantining at home meant Larry didn't make us dinner as usual.  Larry cooked for me though!  I requested French toast for breakfast and was granted that wish!  Larry also made dinner for us.  I got a cute card and Carson gave me an electric toothbrush I had been wanting.  Amazon still delivers!  Ha ha ha!
