Kati's November Crafts

This month I painted some Christmas rocks and made a gingerbread house garland out of a cardboard box.  We also had a girls craft day where we painted a plate.  Larry says I'm such a rebel because I painted my flower orange when everybody else painted theirs red.  Ha ha ha!

20 Years Together

On Thanksgiving Eve twenty years ago, Larry and I met up at Lenora’s Ghost for a quick drink…and somehow never stopped choosing each other.  There isn’t a single photo from that night; selfies weren’t a thing yet, and I had just gotten my very first flip phone (complete with a T-Pain ringtone 😂).

We were both climbing out of miserable marriages, so we took things slow.  Three and a half years later, we got married.  Since then, we’ve lived a whole lot of life together: the amazing parts, the hard parts, and everything in between.  We’ve traveled pieces of the world, moved to another country, raised our kids, and occasionally wondered what it would’ve been like to have one together.  I help him when he can’t hear, and he helps me when I can’t see. 😂

At the end of the day, we’re each other’s safe place, and I’m really proud of us for making it to twenty years. 🥰

We don’t usually celebrate our “first date anniversary,” but twenty years feels like a pretty great excuse to toast to where we started…and everything still ahead.

Rock or Bust

Last night we went to Tiki Todd's to see Rock or Bust, an AC/DC cover band.  We saw them earlier this year and they were really good; we knew back then that we wanted to see them again.  It was definitely the event to be at!  The beers were 50 pesos (approx. $2.50 U.S.), so Larry was happy.  They have been double that in the past.  The food was more expensive to make up for it though.  It was a cool 67 degrees so we wore long pants!

Beachin' in November

Yesterday, we went to Coromuel with Joy and Lorne.  We had shrimp tacos for lunch.  I found some sea glass and swam a bit.  It was a low key beach day!

Roof Refresh

In late October, we bought a mini fridge for our roof and Larry painted the walls blue.  We then discovered that all the rain we got this summer had caused some damage to the posts of our pergola.  They weren't sealed correctly and water was slowly going into our roof.  Larry spent many days while I was in Oregon fixing this.  He removed the bad pieces and let the area dry for a day or so.  Then he sealed, measured, cut tiles, cemented the tiles down, and grouted.  Lots of work!  Our neighbor helped route electricity to the other side of our roof so we could place our mini fridge in a location with the least amount of sun.  Larry's reward was filling the mini fridge with 96 cans of beer!  We also added new cushion covers and pillow covers to complete the refresh!  The dogs continue to love the roof and use the pillows as boosters to see further!  They are so funny!

Kati's Birthday

Phew!  It's been a birthday week!!!

I was in Oregon for my birthday, so decided I would treat myself to a pedicure while there.  The pedicures in Mexico don't include a massage, where in Oregon they do.  The boys took me out to dinner that evening at The Outback.  I had an amazing steak salad and they brought me out some ice cream with hot fudge and a candle.  The boys both gave me gift cards and candy.  My Dad and Mom both gifted me money.  I bought a fancy perfume/skin care advent calendar from Anthropologie with some of my birthday money.  I hit up Starbucks at the airport on my way home and used my gift cards to buy a coffee, breakfast, and a new mug.

Larry and I had agreed that the plane ticket to Oregon (and a peppermint foot rub upon my return) would be my present this year, but when I got home there was a present on the counter.  He gifted me some yummy Tom Ford perfume.  He is the best!  A few days later, a gorgeous crocheted blanket showed up on our doorstep.  Our sweet friend Trish made it for me.  Lastly, I have yet to get this peppermint foot rub!  I guess Larry wants to stretch out the birthday festivities!  Ha ha ha!

Kati to Oregon

I decided to go to Oregon on October 20th and booked my flight for October 24th...I wasn't messing around!  I was in Oregon October 24th through November 3rd.  I was able to see the final showing of "A  Comedy of Tenors", a play that Carson was in at Pentacle Theatre.  He played Carlo Nucci and did such a good job.  I helped my Mom quite a bit with some clean up, clean out, and get rid of.   She had a few Dr. appointments that I was able to attend too. I had chinese food with Tom & Heidi one evening.  I had Olive Garden with my Dad.  I went over to Corey & Melody's for italian food.  We carved pumpkins one evening and had Taco Bell.  I met Ara and we spent probably five different evenings together, along with Carson of course.  I met Ara's parents too!  I visited my Mother-in-law and Larry's Uncle Curt.  I shopped, got my eyebrows threaded, and got a pedicure on my birthday.  I had a Wendy's chocolate frosty and Love Love Teriyaki.  The boys and Ara took me out to dinner at The Outback for my birthday.  We watched football and had pizza.  I let the boys open their birthday gifts early.  Lots of fun family time!
