The plan was to go camping as a family this past week, but Adam couldn't miss football and then Carson couldn't find a friend to come along with him so we cancelled camping. Larry and I went to Running Y Ranch near Klamath Falls for the laziest vacation ever instead! We stopped at a covered bridge and visited Crater Lake on the way down. The super exciting part of the road trip was hitting 10,000 miles on the Jeep!
After Crater Lake, we headed towards Klamath Falls and found a cheaper hotel room for the night. We ate dinner at an Elmer's at 5 p.m. and were back to our room by 6 p.m. I joked that we were old people. We didn't even hit up the swimming pool (that was in the parking lot).
The next day we checked out, got Starbucks, and hit up Walmart for a few more grocery items. We looked around in Walmart for a long time because we had time to kill before we could check into our timeshare at the Running Y Ranch. Larry had a lot of fun in the clearance/toy aisles! We headed to Running Y Ranch and they allowed us to check in early. We got unpacked and headed to the golf shop for Larry to look around. We hit some balls at the driving range too. After the driving range, we headed back to the room where Larry barbecued some steak and potatoes for us. We ate out on our balcony and it was lovely minus the mosquitoes!
The next day we got up and quickly got ready because we had a 10:10 tee time! We got there early so Larry could buy a new hat and practice putting. They let us check-in early and we started much earlier than our 10:10 tee time. We had used sunscreen and were worried about it being miserably hot, but with the earlier start time and the smokey air, it wasn't horrible. Larry had to play through a few holes because he was just one person golfing. I got to drive the cart and keep score which was fun. Add in a breakfast of Mt. Dew and a Snickers and I was loving it! Ha ha ha! Golfing took several hours and afterward we went out to lunch at the Ruddy Duck. We both had huge burgers and yummy fries. The rest of the day we vegged and I started reading a book.
The following day, we vegged almost all day long. I finished my book. Larry made us a brunch at 1 p.m. of cheesy eggs and sausage patties. Finally around 4:30 we thought we should do something, so we went on a walk and ended up at the Ruddy Duck again for drinks and appetizers. We sat outside this time and it was a pretty view. Plus, it's wasn't too hot or too cold...it was perfect.
The next morning we headed home...that is a long drive!
