We had Larry's family over for Thanksgiving this year! It had been almost two years since getting together because of Covid. It was so nice to visit and be together again. I didn't take many pictures, but Larry made the turkey, green beans with sliced almonds/bacon, and bacon wrapped water chestnuts. I made the mashed potatoes, gravy, and stuffing. Plus, we had rolls and forgot the cranberry sauce in the fridge! Ha! Larry must have been tired from all that cooking because he fell asleep with his phone in hand at 8:45 p.m.!

Carson's 21st Birthday!
On to the next Birthday! Carson's 21st! Feels like we have been celebrating his Birthday for a week too! He turned 21 on Tuesday the 16th. He took the day off and I had to coax him up and outside to see his "yard card." He was a good sport and went out for a picture. He went to lunch with Grandma Sue at Olive Garden where he had his first legal drink. He went out with friends that evening to the Yard which is a food cart mecca! He tells me he had a Moscow mule which he really liked.
Yesterday, we went to Gilgamesh with the family where we had pizza, burgers, fried pickles, and beer! Carson got a flight of beer and cider to try. He had two full beers after the flight and we could tell he was feeling the alcohol. We all had a great time and Carson received some very nice gifts.

My Birthday
Another great Birthday in the books! Feels like we celebrated for weeks...because we did! Larry and I had our weekend getaway the last weekend in October, right before my Birthday. My Birthday fell on a Monday which means work! I received so many sweet texts and messages on my Birthday. I stopped and obtained my free Starbucks drink on my way to work! My staff spoiled me with a few clothing items and a gift card to Amazon. We went to dinner as a family that night where I was throughly embarrassed by the public singing of Happy Birthday. Carson gave me a card (and gift) where he spelled birthday without the H so we laughed and teased him about that. My Mom had brought by a gift and a cake for me which was HUGE and delicious. All in all a great day, but we weren't done!
My Mom and I went shopping on the 7th. It's sort of become an annual tradition to go to Washington Square and The Cheesecake Factory...so that is what we did. We didn't have much luck with the shopping, but we had lunch after a 90 minute wait (we shopped while we waited)! We took a picture in front of the Lego store to bug Carson! Ha ha ha!
Last, but not least we had a FULL day at the winery with Brad and Ryan on the 13th! Like we were there for eight hours! We had a charcuterie and pizzas with our wine. It was a nice day...just chatting and relaxing.

Football and Academic Awards...OH MY!
Last night we attended the Football Awards ceremony for Adam. Each senior received a certificate, a framed picture, and a 21-22 football sweatshirt. Additionally, we were invited to the Academic All-Star Award ceremony, but Adam didn't want to go. We still received his certificate though.

Birthday Getaway!
Larry asked a few months ago whether I would want to getaway for the weekend or receive a present for my Birthday. I opted for the weekend getaway...of course! Larry reserved a cute loft for us in Carlton which is a tiny town with several wineries nearby.
On Friday, we went to Stoller Family Estate, Flaneur Wines, and Ken Wright Cellars. We had a lot of wine and a few charcuterie boards. After checking in to our room we went to Margaritas Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was more like the local tavern with a side of Mexican restaurant. It was entertaining and memorable to say the least! After we ate, we got some snacks at the market next door and walked back to our room.
On Saturday, we were slow to get up and get ready. We went to Barrel 47 for lunch and then went to Pike Road Wines for a tasting. They had a cute tasting room that looked like an old house. After that, I was ready for a nap. Too much wine the day before! We went back to our room and relaxed. I got to open up presents too. Larry outdid himself! I received a gift certificate for a massage, Chanel perfume, Donna Karan perfume, and the most gorgeous emerald ring! He purchased gift bags/cards and had wrapped everything just so. It was so sweet. We went to The Horse Radish for dinner. It was a cool looking restaurant, but loud. We had great cocktails and brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Then it took another 50+ minutes for our steaks be served and they were just okay. We both needed salt. We made the best of it and had a good time. They did give me a yummy dessert for my Birthday!
Sunday, we got showered/dressed and headed home. Very relaxing and fun weekend!
