Larry's 50th Birthday

Larry's Birthday was a work day, but he came home to beef stroganoff, brownies, and a few presents. He also got a sweet hug from Scout!

Happy 50th Larry!

Larry's Birthday Getaway

We went to Sisters this past weekend to stay at FivePine Lodge for Larry's 50th Birthday!  We had the cutest cabin with a fireplace and in ground tub.  We had an easy drive over...sunny and no snow.  We stopped at Sisters Saloon for lunch and had a great meal.  We then checked in to our cabin.  Again, so cute!  We brought some wine and filled up the tub.  We sat in the tub for hours, talking with the music going.  I let Larry open his present, which was a crossword activity.  He finally realized that we are road tripping to Reno, Nevada with Corey and Melody to see Sammy Hagar and the Circle in April!  He was so excited!

The next morning, we had our breakfast delivered and a squirrel friend outside of our back door.  We got dressed and headed into Sisters to look around.  We shopped in all the shops...like 5 or 6 this time of year and had brunch.  Larry had breakfast, I had lunch.  We came back to our room and napped and relaxed.  We decided to get up to go to dinner.  Ha!  It was snowing hard outside.  We went to Three Creeks Brewing.  Larry had an awesome prime rib and I mixed it up with fish tacos...not the right choice.  We walked back to our cabin in the snow.

The next morning, we woke up to more snow outside!  Our breakfast was delivered again and we got ready to head home.  Our drive home ended up being quite the adventure!  We had chains in case, but we ended up not needing them.  We got stopped on top of the pass for three hours because there was an avalanche ahead.  We sat in the car for three hours.  Luckily, we had filled up our gas tank and could keep the car on for heat.  We talked, played on our phones, had a car picnic, people watched, and Larry peed in a bottle in the backseat!  Ha ha ha!  We laughed and laughed over that.  It took us six hours to get home!  It was fun though.

Our view for three hours!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day fell on a Thursday and an afternoon full of meetings, but right after my office opened I received the sweetest delivery...gorgeous roses and chocolates.  It was the largest bouquet I've ever seen!  After my meetings, I picked up Hawaiian food for all four of us and headed home to arrange all of my guys Valentine's gifts.  Larry got candy, cologne, and a candle.  Carson got film for his Polaroid camera and tags for his car.  Adam got a hoodie and two t-shirts.

Snow!

We have had a dusting of snow a few mornings in the past week.  The first time, Scout was like "What in the world is this?"  Ha ha ha!

KISS

I gave Larry tickets to see KISS for Christmas and the night finally came to go to the concert!  I also reserved a hotel room close to the Moda Center so we wouldn't have to drive home late at night.  We got up on Friday morning (Feb. 1st) and went to the outlet mall in Woodburn.  We didn't find anything there, but stopped at Elmer's for a late breakfast.  We got to Portland and checked into our room early.  We napped and relaxed in preparation for a late night.

Around 5:30 we got an Uber to the Moda Center since the doors opened at 6:00.  We didn't wear coats because we didn't want to have to worry about them or deal with them.  The doors ended up not opening until 6:45!  We froze outside for over an hour!  Once inside, we got Larry a $75 long sleeved t-shirt and some $12 beers!  Ha ha ha!  We were finally allowed to find our seats around 7:45 p.m. and the band didn't come on stage until 9:15 p.m.  They were supposed to start at 7:30 p.m., but got held up in customs during their commute from Vancouver B.C.!

I was amazed at how entertaining they were and all of their pyrotechnics!  I was thoroughly entertained for almost three hours!  I got the full rock concert experience with the man in front of me smoking pot!  Ha ha ha!

After the concert, we walked back to our hotel.  After being in our room for 20 minutes or so, I decided that I was starving.  We went back out to the Denny's across the street!  It was packed and they were only taking to go orders.  They were closing in 25 minutes!  They are one of the three Denny's that actually close!  They had a security guard and we determined that they closed due to not being in the greatest part of the city.  We finally got our food and I enjoyed my club sandwich in bed!

The next morning we slept in a little, got ready, and headed home.  It was a fun night away!
