Larry's Birthday fell on a Saturday this year so we celebrated all day long! We had breakfast and presents as a family to start the day off. I made a potato, ham, and cheese casserole. Larry got to open his presents which included tickets to see ToTo and Journey in March. Then we got ready for a full afternoon/evening at Ankeny Winery. Larry hired Adam as our driver so everyone could drink responsibly. We had several bottles of wine, pizzas, and appetizers. It was a fun day!
Ryan opted to gather everyone for roller skating for her Birthday this year. Kati cannot roller skate, but thought since she is older she would just pick it up really quickly. That was not the case! Ha ha ha! We did go for drinks first at a McMenamin's, where Larry and I got a stamp on our passports. Then the skating! It was so hot, so crowded, and so crazy. I did one lap around the rink and was done. I was holding on for dear life...to the hot, sticky, and germ-y railing.
Larry had flowers, a teddy bear and balloon sent to me at work for Valentine's Day. I gifted him a box of his "favorite things for my favorite person." The box included a t-shirt from his favorite company, a pair of underwear from his favorite company, soap that he loves, a $25 Amazon gift card, and Aplets & Cotlets which is one of his favorite candies. I gifted the boys some candy, a keychain, and $25 each!
I also am trying to decorate this little tiered tray for each holiday/season this year. I thought it turned out super cute!
Yesterday, Adam and I took Romo in to the veterinarian to be put down. He had been very sick the past few days and it was time. We figured out that we had him around 14 years and he was a year or two old when we rescued him from the humane society. Rest in kitty paradise, Romo.
