Dorothy's Funeral

We attended Dorothy's Celebration of Life yesterday and it was very low key and relaxed.  Afterwards, we went to North Dallas Bar and Grill and had some drinks with Larry's cousins and friends.

Larry's Grandma passed away on Saturday and his family has been posting all sorts of old pictures to remember her by. I thought I better scoop them up and keep them for Larry.  We will be attending her celebration of life tomorrow.

Dorothy L. Combs, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Saturday, January 11th. Dorothy was born on January 23, 1927 in Nara Visa, New Mexico the daughter of Joe and Esther Moore Jeffery. In her later teens she played piano in a band that performed Big Band and Country and Western music. Dorothy married Boyd Combs. She began her career at the State Capital Building and later to the Labor and Industry building. Dorothy later moved to the Dallas Welfare Department where she worked for 30 years. She loved her family and dearly loved her grandson Larry and granddaughter Trisha. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano, music, dancing and shopping. She also enjoyed flying. She had a great love for animals.

She is survived by her son, Curt Combs, daughter, Renee Stepper, grandson, Larry Weyer, granddaughter, Trisha Weyer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 18th from 1:00 pm until 5:00 p.m. at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Memorials may be made to Willamette Valley Human Society in care of Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center who is caring for the family. 

Five Years Blogged!

I'm feeling very accomplished as I just received my 2013 blog book in the mail!  Hard to believe I've been blogging for five years!  I enjoy it and it's nice to go back and look at what we were doing three years ago or easily find a picture.

New Years Eve

We were going to stay home in our jammies for New Years Eve, but decided at the last minute to head to the Independence Hops and Barrel House for dinner and a few drinks.  We ended up staying until 1 a.m.  Mitch and Amy Herzog met us there and we had a fun evening.  The bar handed out horns and champagne before midnight.  I got to kiss my hubby at midnight!

The pictures below crack me up!  We were trying to get one nice picture together and it was a no go!  Ha ha ha!
